Frederick H. Earnest has served as director since 2007 and was appointed CEO of the Company in January 2012. He served as the Company’s President and Chief Operating Officer from 2007-2012 and as Senior Vice President, Project Development from 2006-2007. He served as a director of Midas Gold Corp. from April 2011 – May 2014. Mr. Earnest has over 30 years’ experience in the mining industry, including President of Pacific Rim El Salvador, and previously as General Manager and Legal Representative for Compania Minera Dayton in Chile. He holds a B.S. in Mining Engineering from Colorado School of Mines.
Douglas L. Tobler
Doug Tobler was appointed Chief Financial Officer of the Company in July 2019. Mr. Tobler has more than 35 years of corporate financial management experience gained as a chief financial officer, CPA and corporate advisor. He has extensive experience with growth-stage resource companies, including most recently as CFO of Lydian International. Prior to Lydian, Mr. Tobler was CFO of Alacer Gold Corp. throughout the development and early years of operations of the Çöpler Gold Mine in Turkey. While a CPA and advisor, Mr. Tobler assisted numerous mining clients with strategic financial and corporate accounting objectives. He was also a fellow with Coopers & Lybrand’s National Accounting and SEC Directorate. Mr. Tobler holds a B.S. in Business Administration (Accounting) from the University of Colorado.
Brent D. Murdoch
Brent D. Murdoch joined Vista Gold Australia as the General Manager in November 2012. With 35 years of industry experience, including more than ten years’ experience specializing in mine start-ups and large project construction, Mr. Murdoch has substantial mining industry experience in gold, manganese, iron ore and copper. Previous roles include management positions with Leighton Contractors at the Solomon and Yandi mines in Western Australia as well as General Manager of OM Manganese Pty Ltd and General Manager Construction for Harmony Gold at the Hidden Valley Mine. Mr. Murdoch is responsible for building the Mt Todd operating team, managing local stakeholder relationships and ultimately managing the operation of the Mt Todd mine. He earned his MBA in 2007 and a Diploma in Electronic Business in 2004 both from Murdoch University in Perth Australia and also holds a Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
Pamela A. Solly
Pamela A. Solly joined Vista as Vice President of Investor Relations in April 2019. Ms. Solly has 25 years of public company experience strategically developing, coordinating and executing investor relations and corporate communications programs. Prior to joining Vista, Ms. Solly was Vice President of Investor Relations of Lydian International. Ms. Solly has held various investor relations positions at Thompson Creek Metals Company, Keating Investments and Cyprus Amax Minerals Company. Ms. Solly holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Economics from Regis University and a Master of International Management degree from the University of Denver. She is a Director of the Denver Gold Group and a member of the National Investor Relations Institute and Women in Mining.
Glen McIlwain
Glen E. McIlwain joined Vista Gold Australia as the Exploration Manager in May 2022. A geologist with over twenty years of experience in multiple geological settings and commodities, from greenfields exploration to underground mining. Glen obtained his BSc (Hons) in Geology in 2002 and started his geological career in metallurgical coal exploration before changing to underground epithermal gold. In 2007, Glen moved to the Northern Territory for GBS Gold as an underground geologist working in two high-grade gold mines, and in 2009 started working on Vista Gold’s Mt Todd project primary resource drill out. He recently played a significant role in discovering lithium (spodumene) in the Bynoe pegmatite field for four years before returning to Mt Todd in 2020. Glen is interested in all aspects of geology and has been a committee member of the NT branch of the Geological Society of Australia for the last ten years.
